The port of Tornio is better known as port of Röyttä, but both names are used when people talk about the northernmost port of Finland.
The northernmost port in Finland is located 13 kilometers from Tornio city centre. Port of Röyttä has lively traffic all year round, which is possible thanks to the Finnish ice breakers assistance. With a shipping lane that is 120 meters wide and nine-meter draft, port of Röyttä import and export three million tons cargo yearly.
The exports are mainly stainless steel and ferrochrome and the imports are recycled steel, coke, lime, and natural gas.
